Compressed air is normally fully saturated with water vapour. Air dryers are used to remove water vapour from compressed air. Heatless desiccant air dryers are the most apt solution for drying air suitable for Compressed air used in breathing air systems. Pressure dewpoint is in the range of less than 2°C to -40°C. Further, the system has a Bacteria filter. The dryer and filter are mounted on a common skid to make a redundant system so that in the event of a problem or maintenance, the user can change over to the other system. The controller also has dewpoint and carbon monoxide alarms.
Various contaminations which are present in the air are oil, water vapor, carbon monoxide and dirt. To make the air breathable in the industrial environment, a five-step air purification process is used in Breathing air compressor:

Removing liquid oil:
During this process, the compressed air moves through a blended -fiber filter to remove tiny oil droplets. This process can eliminate up to 0.01 ppm sized droplets. -
Removing moisture/water vapor:
The second process includes removing water vapor from the compressed air, and a desiccant dryer or refrigerated dryer achieves it. The air dryer condenses the water vapor and removes it from the Breathing air system. Desiccant dryers work with the help of silicone gel to absorb the moisture. -
Converting carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide:
This process is achieved with the help of a catalytic converter that helps convert carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. This process must always occur after moisture and other contaminants are filtered out of the compressed air. -
Removing Hydrocarbons:
Hydrocarbon is a contaminant that can make the air smell and taste unusual, it is not toxic, but it makes people uncomfortable and decreases their performance. -
Filtering solid particle residue:

How it works
Drying cycle: The compressed wet air flows through the pre filter. The Liquid water particles get filtered by the filter. The filtered air flows in to the adsorbed tower filled with desiccant where it loses all the moisture to the desiccant. Purified (Moisture and oil free) air further passing through the series filter to achieve the desired quality level as per Breathing Standard.
Regeneration Cycle: In order to remove the moisture during regeneration cycle. Small portion of dry air from the drying tower is passes over the desiccant through the regeneration orifice. This results in complete regeneration of desiccant and ready for the next cycle.

Coalesing – Pre Filter: The P-Grade (5 Micron) pre-filter element removes particulates, water aerosols, and oil mist content in the air.
Fine Filter: The X-Grade (1 Micron) Fine filter efficiently removes fine aerosols and desiccant powder particles from the adsorbent towers.
Activated Carbon Filter: This filter is used to remove oil and hydrocarbon vapour from the compressed air stream coming from the dryer, ensuring odour-free and taste-free air at the outlet.
Bacterial Filter: 0.01-micron filter effectively removes various particles, including bacteria, viruses and moisture droplets, from the dry air exiting the TBAS.
TBAS controller: Provides complete control of the system with LED indication of each step in the sequence of operation. A high-quality carbon monoxide (CO) monitor continuously measures CO level at PPM. A dewpoint monitor ensures Water vapour concentration at the dew point temperature (°C).
TBAS protects the breathing air circuit and hospital pipelines from contamination, delivering odour-free and taste-free Breathing air for the safety of the Patients.
